Catherine Porter Fine Art works with both corporate and private clients helping, build, conserve and market collections of Fine Art and also Antiquarian Books.

Catherine Porter has worked for over twenty-five years with Fine Art and Antiquarian Books. Starting her career in a small, specialist bookseller in Fleet Street, she joined Sotheby’s the auction house in 1986 where she became responsible for sales of Illustrated Books and Original Watercolours and Drawings. She retains an advisory role for both the auction house and private clients. She has written two books on collecting: Miller’s Collecting Modern Books and Miller’s Collecting Books.

She has advised corporate clients such as Landsbanki Securities and Clariden Leu Asset Management as well as numerous private clients. Such advisory work ranges from acquiring individual pieces of art to forming entire collections, providing catalogues and negotiating all aspects of a dispersal.

She has given talks, lectures and guided tours in public and private relating to major art events and collections.
