The concrete jungles of contemporary urban landscapes are the inspiration behind David's abstract paintings in concrete.

David graduated in Fine Art from Southampton in 1997. He began as a figurative painter in oils but slowly the urban landscape of Southampton intruded into his work and he began to create landscapes and cityscapes. Initially cement dust was used as a pigment on the canvas but soon it was this material itself that excited him and concrete became the medium of his choice. Working with pigments in the concrete and using metals, minerals and techniques such as etching and carving he creates his distinctive luminous works which are light enough to be hung conventionally.

Working so far mainly to private and commercial commission David has exhibited at numerous shows throughout the country.
